Crowns (Stainless Steel)

Baby teeth are important for your child’s growth, development, speech, ability to chew, and their smile. They also save space for the adult teeth that will grow in. Sometimes the decay or defects in the baby teeth are so large that the tooth needs extra protection and reinforcement. This is done through stainless steel crowns or “shiny prince/princess teeth.”

Sometimes stainless steel crowns are placed on permanent teeth as a temporary solution of protection until your child is in their late teens or adult age. At this point they would be replaced with custom-made ceramic crowns.
